Review: I went to see this movie on opening day, not exactly knowing what to expect. Half of me was thinking it was going to be bad like Open Season or something along that line because of the “Butt Joke” used in the trailer, which isn my type of humor, but I wanted to see it on behalf of the now deceased Dennis Hopper.

What I found was not a movie comparable against the ranks of great animations like THE LION KING or Toy Story (and don those outrank almost any animations anyway?), but it was anything but a flop. It did its job which was to entertain me for the hour and a half that I payed for. Might I add that they must have payed special care to the 3D, because it was very appealing to the eye, and the “Butt Jokes” only came a couple times and were dismissible.

I laughed more than I expected through-out the film, and there were jokes that both adults and children could enjoy, some of them were certainly more aimed at the adults in the audience but I don think the kids would understand them or even question them, unless they
e getting into their teens. They kept it family friendly.

SYNOPSIS OF THE MOVIE: The storyline is very straightforward. There are two packs of wolves and there is a lack of food, so the deal is to bring the packs together by way of marriage between the two packs offspring.

In comes the problem. One of the offspring to marry: Kate, is taken away, as you should know from the trailer “to repopulate”, and this messes up the whole plan, and so she needs to get back, and poor Humphrey, who is in love with Kate, is caught up in the middle of it.

This is the basis of the story, and it kept me entertained the whole movie. Although I admit the ending was predictable, but I was focused more on the movie as a whole, and as a whole, it was well worth it, and deserves at least a 6 out of 10. Im giving it a 7 for Mr. Hopper. If you can, go see it in theaters though, as the 3D was quite captivating.
